| IST develops custom hardware including VME-based black boxes (FPGAs, programmable logic, and ECL) and WB IF real-time pulse parameterizers. |
| The company also develops hardware control software that interfaces over IEEE-488 to devices such as subband tuners and controllers interfacing through high-speed switches and routers over GIGABIT and 100BaseT Ethernet, FDDI, HiPPI and other network topologies. In addition to the design and development of components, IST designs and develops stand-alone systems. These include covert and remote systems as well as "drop and retrieve" units that depend on innovative miniaturization. |

| IST has a strong core of employees with a breadth of software design and development experience using C, C++, Java, Java 3D, OpenGL, and X/Motif. IST is experienced with large software development programs with over 1,000,000 lines of code and involving multiple contractors and geographically dispersed workforces. IST also excels at smaller software development efforts, which may involve rapid prototyping and providing quick reaction capabilities. IST believes that for software development efforts to be successful, the end user's involvement and feedback through out the design and development phases of a program is critical. |
| IST is a recognized leader in the development of real-time high data rate acquisition, storage, retrieval, and graphics systems. IST has developed the Real-Time Displays (RTD), which is an integrated suite of tools that support signals analysis and exploitation of continuously streaming real-time data, as well as file based data. RTD is deployed at a variety of government facilities worldwide. IST has developed a data distribution system (Data on Demand) that innovates the way for special processing centers to quickly obtain high priority data electronically, instead of waiting weeks or months for a tape. |
